MAKING ART
Both Dawn Marie Galtieri and Christopher Ellis demonstrate a strong desire to create multi-disciplinary work, stemming from their varied artistic influences. Together they have studied Dance; Theatre Acting, Music Theatre, Writing, Stage Managing and Directing; Vocal Music; and Film—and feel that the idea of a work comes first, and that the form the piece takes follows. Experiencing many theatre pieces that may have worked better as films, or “performance art” that borrowed from theatre forms with a conscious disregard for theatre craft—drove the passion behind this creative philosophy.

  Goals:

Support and challenge artists to produce excellent, innovative and inter-disciplinary work

Encourage dialogue and activities that build collaboration across artistic disciplines

Provide professional, paid opportunities for artists to make and teach art

Develop audience within the Logan Square community

Provide affordable making art space through residencies and rentals

Exhibit art work of children, adults, and professional artists

Foster individual and collective pride by prominently displaying artwork in the community
