Circle in the Square: New Works in Dance Theatre will present six new works in its second season, March 23 - 25, 2007. The choreographic artists will be Christopher Ellis, Jyl Fehrenkamp, Dawn Marie Galtieri, Winifred Haun, and Jill Heyser.
These artists have been chosen for their ability to extend themselves creatively in new directions and to make new work in new ways. All artists will premiere at least one new work made especially for this event. Programming details will be released in February.
The mission of Circle in the Square is to present programs of new work created by a collective of dance makers and their invited colleagues. Circle in the Square marks the first creative producing collaboration of two arts organizations: Voice of the City (f.k.a. Arts Alliance, aurorARTS alliance), and Winifred Haun & Dancers.
Collectively, these organizations represent a broad range of experience producing and creating dance, theatre, and performance art.
Circle in the Square will be presented Friday and Saturday, March 23 & 24, 2007 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, March 25 at 3:00 pm at Glade Memorial Hall, 2640 W. Altgeld, near Fullerton & California in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood. Tickets are $15 general admission/$10 students and seniors. Group rates are available.
